To renew or open a new DBA, please complete the form located here. You will notice that this form does require a Notary, however, Michigan’s Notary Law currently allows for electronic/remote notarization of documents. For more information, please see Executive Order 2020-41. Effective last week, my Office accepts electronically/remotely notarized Affidavits of Identity. To find a notary, click here.
To renew a DBA, please have a check or money order for $14 payable to Ingham County Clerk ($16 for a new DBA). My Office also accepts debit/credit card at an additional fee. For more information, please see the section on fees below.
You may file your electronically notarized documents with the County Clerk via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or the physical, original, documents via drop box at the Ingham County Jail (located in Mason) or US Mail to:
